///The “High-resistivity Red-beds” lithological unit in the Dongpu Depression is a series of red colored fluvial and lacustrine deposits with higher than normal resistivity, conformably overlying the Permian Shiqianfeng Formation and in turn overlain unconformably by Palaeogene sediments. These red beds were previously assigned to the Early Triassic based on lithostratigraphic well-logging and seismic evidence. The study shows however that they contain both Permian and Triassic palynofloras, indicating overall a late Late Permian age.
