摘要
When geochemical data are not normally or log-normally distributed and transformed data do not approach normal distribution,it is therefore difficult to use traditional methods to detect anomalies effectively. This paper shows an example on the robust statistics and Exploratory Data Analysis(EDA) to identify geochemical anomalies in a specific area. These methods are simple,"robust" and without requirement of the data to approach any distribution.By comparing with traditional methods, the merit and demerit of different methods were discussed. The results show that, using robust statistics and EDA to delineate geochemical anomalies accords with objective reality, large anomaly scopes, and have a good agreement with known deposits(occurrences).
