Stratigraphic Framework and Evolution in the Qishen Area of the Qikou Depression
The Qishen area is a promising region for oil and gas exploration located in the Qikou depression. In this paper, the characteristics and the stratigraphic framework of the Qishen area are analyzed. 4 sequence boundaries and 3 third-grade sequences can be identified. In addition, the low-stand, transgressive and high-stand system tracts can be recognized in each of the third-grade sequence. However, only the retrogradational regressive and progressive high-stand system tracts were observed in the Banqiao sag and the slope belt of the Qibei subsag. Finally, a model for the regional sequence stratigraphic framework is suggested.
