摘要
Baotou-Hohhot area in central Inner Mongolia can be composed of two different geomorphic units,northern Daqingshan Mountain and southern Hetao Plain. Quaternary developed completedly in work aera,which has a great thickness of sediments. The feature of the Quaternary sediments reflect the environment and climate change,mainly dry and cold climate in middle Pleistocene,and occurred the three tide. In early late Pleistocence,the last interglacial stage(12.8～7.00 Ma) came,which is warm and humid. The workplace is mainly lacustrine facies and sand wind sedimentation between 6.8 Ma～0.95 Ma,show that the climate turn into the dry and cold climate period,which is the last glacial stage(7.4～1 Ma) climate.
