Three structural zones such as root zone, middle zone and frontal zone were developed in the South Daba Mountains foreland thrust fault belt. Field study of the middle zone in Muguakou-Mingyue and Chengkou-Longtian areas indicates that the imbricate fault zone have experienced seven movements. In combination with previous geochronologic data, this paper makes an approach to the deformation mechanism of the South Dabas Mountains foreland thrust fault belt which is of importance to the tectonic framework and ore-formation in the Qinling orogenic belt.
