The study investigates the preservation of the Pingguo accumulative bauxite deposit under intensive denudation condition via the study of the ore-soil composition. The geochemical characteristics of the soil and ore beds indicate that the strong weathering and weak erosion favored the bauxite mineralization. The preserve modes of the bauxites vary with increasing degree of karst development and the shift of drainage pattern from surface to underground. Hence, the enclosed environment resulted in the accumulation of bauxite while the vertical crustal movement and pilot surface erosion may also lead to open condition and cause the loss of accumulative bauxite.
