Based on the new thinking “Reservoir Critical Property” proposed by authors, only through combination of hydrocarbon accumulation mechanism and reservoir evaluation can accumulation capability of reservoir with low porosity and permeability be re-understood. This paper proposes three determination methods of reservoir critical properties: 1) logging data analysis; 2)well testing analysis; and 3) experimental analysis of critical charge properties in the oil-bearing sandstone. Only being combined with hydrocarbon accumulation dynamically to evaluate reservoir quality, oil and gas-bearing capability of different reservoirs can be objectively distinguished. Introduction of “Reservoir Critical Property” parameters into the reservoir evaluation of low porosity and permeability can effectively evaluate and predict accumulation conditions in this area.
