Lithostratigraphy, Sequence Stratigraphy, and Biostratigraphy of the Suobucha and Quse Formations and the Triassic-Jurassic Boundary in the Sewa Area on the South Margin of the Qiangtang Basin, Northern Tibet
摘要
The authors investigated the Triassic and Jurassic successions in the Sewa area on the south margin of the Qiangtang Basin, northern Tibet. This paper describes the Early Jurassic Quse Formation and the underlying Suobucha Formation. The Suobucha Formation yields abundant Late Triassic brachiopods, bivalves, and scleractinians. The upper Suobucha Formation contains Early Jurassic ammonoids. Thus, the Suobucha Formation is of Late Triassic to Early Jurassic age. This paper also discusses the Triassic-Jurassic boundary in the Sewa area. The biostratigraphic data from the Sewa area have implications for the study of the Triassic-Jurassic boundary in Tibet.
