In order to achieve a high SNR field data collection, based on the exciting and receiving characteristics of shallow shear waves, this study analyzes the polarization properties, source weight, and exciting area. It found that using transverse wave polarization properties, the reverse excitation phase reduction can improve the signal-to-noise ratio of shallow shear wave data. In addition, optimal stimulation area and appropriate source weight can enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of the shear wave data.
