Eight genera and 20 species of conodonts found for the first time from the Changjiang Formation of the Shilu area, Changjiang County, and from the middle-upper part of Member 2, Nanhao Formation, Jinbo area, Baisha County respectively, were described herein. They include Palmatolepis gracilis gracilis Branson et Mehl, P. gracilis sigmoidalis Ziegler, Polygnathus ansatus Ziegler et Klapper, Polynodosus germanus (Ulrich et Bassler), Neopolygnathus dentatus (Druce), Siphonodella levis (Ni) and Polygnathus cf. inornatus Branson etc. The fossil-bearing rocks were placed into the Famennian of the Late Devonian and Early Tournaisian of the Early Carboniferous respectively. It is worth noting that the Polygnathus ansatus Ziegler et Klapper, a Givetian zonal guide fossil, occurred together with the Famennian conodonts in Changjiang Formation. It may not be caused by the tectonic mélange, while can not eliminate the possibility of fossil reworked. The Polynodosus, separated from Polygnathus, was accepted for the first time in China.
