Particularly, in the study of stratified ordered epimetamorphic sandstones and slates from the orogenic belt, the stratigraphic division according to structures of natural genetic units of a rock series must be used, whereas the stratigraphic division according to the traditional simple method of sand/mud ratios should be dismissed. By the research on the Wanbaogou Group tectonic mélanges of the middle Eastern Kunlun, a new understanding of oceanic island stratigraphic sequence has been obtained, and existence of the Middle Triassic turbidite fan graywackes has been recognized.
