In view of the characteristic of Yong 3-1 complex fault block reservoir,this paper proposed a formation based divide-combine modeling method.Conventional single model was divided into several models according to layer series of development.Firstly the large bending boundary of the reservoir-controlling fault was split into three less curved faults and modeled separately.The consistent occurrence of faults that cross layer series can effectively reduce the oil reserves computation errors.Secondly,the complex truncation relations between low-class faults and major fault inside layer series of development were converted into simple ones.This will solve the difficulties of interior faults modeling during the research of complex oil reservoir that was cut by many faults.Finally,an optimized multi-model combination was obtained by grid control method and strata penetration regulation.The acquired mesh model can divide faults accurately into segments and provide accurate data fields for reservoir numerical simulation.
