Water absorbent resins were synthesized by Hangjin clay and bentonite in this paper.  Grafting ratio, gel strength and aging rate of water absorbent resins were compared through analysis of SEM, DSC, IR, size and chemical composition of Hangjin clay and bentonite.  The results indicated that water absorbent resins synthesized by Hangjin clay have high grafting ratio, big gel strength and small aging rate as compared with the water absorbent resins synthesized by bentonite.
