By using fission track dating of apatite, the emplacement age of the granite outcrops in the central uplift zone of the Qiangtang Basin on the northern slope of the Tanggula range was systematically tested. Several fission track ages of apatite were similar to the intruding age of granite (67.1 ± 2.0 Ma), which proved that the granite in the Munai, was formed in Late Cretaceous. Accordingly, the crustal uplift in the Munai,
