PAN style="COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 14pt; mso-font-kerning: 0pt" lang=EN-US>By using different kinds of data from sedimentologybiatomic and sequence stratigraphy and coal geologysedimentary characteristics of the Tongziyan Formation and its evolutionary history are studied. The result indicated that the Tongziyan Formation is deposited in a marine-shore environment. Its sedimentary sequence can be divided into three cycleswhile each cycle starts with a rapid ingression and ends in a slow regression process due to a series of secondary fast transgression or regression events. Under the internatively influence of tidal and fluvial systemsthe peat formation environments of Tongziyan Formation fluctuated constantly from fluvial to tidal flat. The sedimentary facies of the Tongziyan Formation include sea shoreisland-lagoonpeattidal flattide or river controlled deltawhich constitute a complex delta deposition system.
