MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class=MsoNormal>mes New Roman">In the FDTD simulation for ground penetrating radar (GPR), the absorbing boundary condition is one of the key factors to improve simulation accuracy. The authors derived the three-dimensional anisotropic perfect matched UPML absorbing boundary formula for ground penetrating radar, and realized it in matlab code. The simulation results show that the absorbing effect and computational efficiency of UPML absorbing boundary is significantly better than ml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Mur and PML absorbing boundary. Applying UPML boundary to three-dimensional finite difference time domain method can significantly improve the reliability and accuracy of GPR forward modeling. ml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
