Maoershan Boundary Fault along the South Edge of Hongjishan Tectonic Mixtite in
Maoershan boundary fault is located along the south edge of Hongjishan tectonic mixtite. It is composed of a series of plastic mylonite, with the characters of ductile deformation. This fault displays active, at least three periods recognized as thrusting, striking, and thrusting. By analyzing the deformation setting, it is suggested that Maoershan fault is the semi-ductile deformation to ductile deformation with the compress. The 213 Ma, dating of 40Ar-39Ar of glaucophane from glaucophane schist in Hongjishan, represents the age of formation of the fault.
