3D ore body modeling increasingly played a prominent role in mineral deposit exploration. It was necessary for the geolog- ical staffs to choose the suitable method to build 3D ore body models. The commonly used methods of modeling 3D ore bodies were de- scribed. The features of ore bodies were then classified, and the correspondenees between kinds of modeling methods and the features of ore bodies were discussed. Modeling examples of the three typical deposits were presented to show the adaptive of different modeling methods for those ore bodies with different features. The results showed that the classification of the ore body features and the adaptive evaluation of modeling methods could help to select the suitable method to build 3D ore body models efficiently.
