Molybdenite deposit located in the Sanchagou gold ore area was analyzed by Re-Os isotopic dating, yielding a new data of 1823±23Ma. The result indicates that the molybdenite of the Sachagou gold deposit formed at the late Paleoproterozoic period. Combined with the molybdenite Re-Os age of copper deposits in the Zhongtiaoshan area, it can be inferred that the Zhongtiao Movement (Lüliang period) was the important molybdenum metallogenic period. Therefore, the Re-Os age of molybdenite in the Lüliang period not only provides evidence for existence of the Pre-Cambrian metallogenic period, but also shows the prospecting direction to find molybdenum deposits and the metamorphic porphyry-type copper-molybdenum ore in this area.
