Microbiological prospecting technology for oil and gas (MPOG) is a branch of surface reservoir evaluation; it mainly studies the correlation relationship between the microbiological anomaly in the sub surface soil layer and the reservoirs in deep underground. It was successfully used in Zhenjing oilfield for its low cost, simplicity, convenience and low ambiguity. Finally, the authors gave a grading evaluation for reservoir in the working area, and according to the results of microbial prospecting and geological characteristics and other comprehensive factors, three suggesting wells were deployed in the working area.
