In this paper, a flotation route was adopted to separate quartz from albite, using octadecyl amine(cationic collector) and sodium dodecyl sulfonate (anionic collector, SDS) as flotation collectors, and the effect of the flotation conditions on the separating efficiency was investigated, as well as the collector’s adsorbing behaviors on quartz and albite powder. The experimental results showed that the optimum floatation conditions were given as follows: pH=2, and the concentrations of the anionic collector and cationic collector in the flotation solution are ~3.0×10-6 mol/L and ~4.0×10-6 mol/L, respectively.
