摘要
The adsorption ability of geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) and its variation were explored through test and analysis of chemical compositions in the landfill leachate before and after permeation. The results were demonstrated by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry analysis. It was found that GCL’s adsorption to most of cations and organics occurred during the permeation process of landfill leachate through GCL. The results also indicate that the absorption ability was strong at the beginning of permeation, but gradually decreased until a saturation of adsorption was reached. Thus an anti-seepage barrier of low hydraulic conductivity, which does not absorpt to harmful ions and organic matter, is the key quality of GCL.
