Rainstorm is an important induced factor of unstability of a landslide.  This paper uses the mechanical model for horizontal sliding landslide for calculating stability of the Zhongxin Middle School Landslide in Santai County, Sichuan.  The results indicate that hydrostatic pressure in fissures resulting from rainstorm may be responsible for unstability of the landslide.
