Based on outlining the geo-environmental characteristics of the study area, its geo-environmental problems are analyzed and corresponding treatment methods are proposed. The main problems are ground subsidences and fissures, caused by mining, as well as soil and water pollution, resulted from falling underground water and unreasonably-disposed coal gangue. They are closely related to the deficient legislation about mine-environmental protection, the improper management pattern of the local authorities and a lack of environmental protection awareness by the masses.
