Characteristics of Raman Spectral of Calcite Group Minerals

 In this paper, calcite group minerals, including calcite, smithsonite, rhodochrosite, magnesite and dolomite, were tested by Raman spectra. Based on assignment and analysis, it was found that the Raman spectral characteristics of monocrystal calcite are the same as aggregates. Among calcite-group minerals, the longer the cation radius is, the greater the Raman shift is due to the vibration mode of νob, νib and νs, and the less the Raman shift is due to vibration mode of ν νas. The vibration mode νob of dolomite splits because of different types of cations on both sides and comes into vibration modes of νob and νaob.
