摘要
The thermal state of permafrost plays a crucial role in ecosystem, greenhouse gas exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere, hydrological and geomorphological processes, and constructions and operations of engineering infrastructures in cold regions. Data and information on the active layer and permafrost are critical for soil freeze-thaw related model calibration and validation at various scales. The main objective of this paper is to provide an up-to-date status of global permafrost thermal state under a warming climate. Changes in permafrost temperatures, active layer thickness and talik development are mainly caused by changes in air temperature and seasonal snow cover.
