Annual mean temperature and precipitation in Tangshan area since 200 ka B.P. are reconstructed quantitatively in this paper by means of the transfer function of pollen-climatic factors proposed by Song Changqing, based on the pollen data of the Hole TZC6-7 at the former site of the 10th Middle School, Tangshan city. The results show a clear periodical and cyclic variation pattern in annual mean temperature and precipitation, which can be well correlated with the climatic changes in Huabei area since the late Quaternary, although there may be some deviation between the data we obtained and the absolute values of the palaeoclimatic parameters.
