Field standard penetration tests were conducted to decide on the liquefaction of the layer of fine silt sand in Section K205 +700 ~ K207 +100 of State Road 317. Values were calculated by both "Code for Seismic Design of Highway Engineering" (JTJ004-89) and "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" (GB5001-2001). Both results showed the probability of liquefaction. But due to value by the former code too big, the latter one is recommended in the engineering project and vibro-compaction method is proposed for prevention.
