///By means of the REE characteristics, the sources, water oxidation-reduction properties, paleoclimate conditions and so on are researched for the terrestrial detritus in Permian Lucaogou Formation oil shale in Sangonghe Area of south Junggar Basin. The results show that the light REEs are rich and characterized by the negative anomalies for Eu and Ce. The influence of the diagenesis is very limited on REE concentrations. The source rocks of terrestrial detritus mainly migrate from Middle Carboniferous continental tholeiite and sedimentary rocks in Bogda mountain area, the oil shale was formed in reducing palaeo-lake environment with warm and humid climate, and furthermore the mass fractions of both the total REE and the TOC are mainly controlled by the above paleoclimate when the oil shale was generated.
