///The middle Yangtze area was an epicontinental basin in Middle Permian. Based on stratigraphic, lithofacies and sedimentary facies analysis, the Middle Permian series was thick in south and thin in north, gradually thinning from south to north. The lithofacies changed from shallow marine limestone to the bathyal and deep-sea siliceous limestone, siliceous rock from south to north; the sedimentary water gradually became deeper from south to north. Microfacies analysis shows that widely developed calcirudite in the study area is allochthonous sedimentary origin instead of differential compaction. The study area suffered extensive transgression in the Middle Permian: the northern margin of the middle Yangtze was the outer ramp deep water basin and the main middle Yangtze craton was ramp deposition; some areas were carbonate platform facies sedimentation and the western
