Removal of Ammomum-Nitrogen as Struvite Crystallization from Landfill Leachate
The method of struvite crystallization has been utilized to remove high concentrations of ammonium-nitrogen in landfill leachate. The effects of the type of precipitating agent, pH value, ratio of precipitating agent and reaction time were studied on the removal rates of ammonium-nitrogen in single-factor experiments and orthogonal tests. The method of struvite crystallization is effective to remove ammomum, make up for the deficiencies of mineral adsorption, and provide the conditions of biological method for the follow-up processing.
