To obtain rock physical parameters of 57 core samples from 9 different exploratory wells in the Xujiaweizi area of the Songliao Basin, the samples are tested in the laboratory under reservoir conditions. The samples are all volcanic rocks from the Yingcheng Formation. With the ultrasonic transmission method, acoustic parameters of the samples have been measured with the velocities of compressional and shear waves. The characteristics of rock physics of the samples in different fluid states were also analyzed in detail. Results indicate that the gas- and brine-bearing volcanic reservoirs can be distinguished in dual-parameter domain space, especially in the space of the body parameter and the shearing parameter.
