The Analysis of the Sequence Stratigraphical Classification of the Xishanyao Formation and Depositional Environment Evolution in the Jijihu West Coalfield Eastern Unggar Basin, Xinjiang

According to the research on distribution and features of the coalbed, applying Vail’s classical sequence stratigraphical principles and technical methods, the paper makes sequence stratigraphical research on the Xishanyao Formation, and concludes that the Xishanyao formation in the mining district can be divided into 2 third-order Sequences, 6 system tracts and 10 parasequences. It points out that thin coalbeds are discontinuously distributed in the low system tract, thick and extremely thick coalbeds are continuously distributed in the expansionary and high system tract.
