Application and Significance of the Induced-Polarization Method in Exploration of the Baizhangzi Gold Deposit in Liaoning Province
详细信息
摘要

The Baizhangzi is one of the major gold deposits in the Jidong gold mineralization belt, Liaoning. There are two types of gold mineralization, one is auriferous disseminated pyrite and fine pyrite-quartz veins, the other is auriferous pyrite-quartz lodes, most orebodies are concealed. There is obvious electrical property contrast between Orebodies and country rocks, at initial exploration stage, resistivity-central gradient array, induced polarization-central gradient array and induced polarization-sounding survey were conducted. Orebodies show low resistivity and high polarization, anomalous zones are coincide with the main structures and granitic porphyry body, therefore, the exploration targets are changed from the previous focusing on the NW striking small orebodies to the area along the main structures and granitic porphyry body for concealed mineralization. The electrical anomalies were drill tested which intersected significant mineralization.
