After the completion of the Memoir on the Artiodactyla at Choukoutien, it was the kindsuggestion of Dr. W. H. Wong, the director of the Geologica0 l Survey of China, Drt Davidson Black9the honorary director of the Cenozoic Research Laboratory, and Dr. V. K. Ting, the chairman ofthe board of editors of the Palaeontologia Sinica that I might work out first the microfauna of thesame locality.
