摘要

The first survey at a scale of six inches to one mile of the Blackpool Sheet was made by C E De Rance in 1869 and the map was published in 1871. A short explanatory memoir followed in 1875, and a specialised memoir on the glacial drifts of the coasts of south-west Lancashire, also by De Rance, was published in 1877.
