摘要

Far less important are the other offshore regions in western Europe. On the Atlantic side of the British Isles geophysical ex-ploration and the first drilling operations were carried out. In the offshore south of Ireland, the first gas discovery has been made. In the bay of Biscay explo-ration has been carried out 40 km off the coast but without any commercial success so far.
