The title phosphonium salts serve as source of radicals under reductive conditions using an iridium complex or Hantzsch ester as one-electron reducing agent under irradiation with visible light.The fluorinated radicals are trapped with various alkenes leading either to furan derivatives via a photoredox cycle (for the iridium catalyst) or aliphatic fluorinated alcohols via a hydrogen atom transfer (for the Hantzsch ester).
