Solar-powered continuous-flow reactions have been realized with an innovative, leaf-inspired device based on the luminescent
solar concentrator (LSC) concept. In the Communication on
page 1050 ff., T. Noël, M. G. Debije, et al. show the photon-harvesting and spectral
conversion abilities of the device. This is the first application of an LSC in organic synthesis and constitutes a simple and non-cost-intensive solution for
solar-powered photochemistry.
