The new Eibsee cable car is being built on the highest construction site in Germany, the Zugspitze, to replace the old cable car from 1963. About 1,000 m3 of rock had to be removed for the new mountain station. Altogether 1,200 m3 of concrete, 500 t of steel and 330 t of reinforcement were used for the building. The new summit station is designed with a free-standing area projecting 30 m. in order to secure and back-anchor the foundation, DSI supplied numerous anchors of various types (see page 92).
