Single crystals of Ba₃Zn₂B₃O₉F (I) and Ba₅Zn₂B₄O₁₂F₂ (II) are synthesized from mixtures of BaF₂, PbO, ZnO, and H₃BO₃ (850—900 °C, 10 h, 30% and 80% yield for (I) and (II), respectively).
