The combination of gated materials with SERS spectroscopy produced highly sensitive and selective sensing systems. Crystal violet-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles are used in combination with suitable caps and gold nanotriangles for the detection of Mycoplasma genomic DNA and cocaine.
