Christopher Frank and
Johnson Samuel present a scalable manufacturing process for the continuous production of nanofiber ropes, cables, micro-scale wire coatings and multi-material
mats. The ropes, cables and wire coatings were manufactured using a cascading electrospinning setup in conjunction with a rotating ring collector and take-up reel. The fibrous
mats were formed by replacing the ring collector with a directed nozzle. Both configurations allow for the creation of nanofiber architectures with multiple layers and material combinations. (DOI:
