Three oxazolidinone-based pharmaceuticals, antibacterials linezolid (I) and tedizolid (II) and anticoagulant rivaroxaban (III) are synthesized using a recently reported copper-catalyzed one-pot cyclization and arylation as the key step to construct the N-aryloxazolidinone core.
