P. Rico, M. Salmerón-Sánchez, and co-workers present an engineered material-driven fibronectin (FN) interface on page 6563. Poly(ethyl acrylate) induces spontaneous organization of FN into nanonetworks mimicking natural FN observed in biological stem cell niches. By promoting maintenance of stemness under basal conditions (undifferentiated stem cells shown in the picture), and by enhancing cell differentiation under defined media this material provides wide versatility for stem cell research and biomedical applications.
