The cover picture shows gold nanoparticles encapsulated into a 3D self-standing macroporous hydrogel made of cross-linked ferritin by dynamic templating. The bionanocomposite hydrogel exhibits catalytic properties for both nitroaldol and nitroreduction reactions in aqueous solution at room temperature. The findings provide a simple strategy for the development of a variety of biohydrogel-based nanoreactors.
