An extremely stable Tb coordination polymer, TbL₂ [HL = 4-(pyrimidin-5-yl)benzoic acid], was synthesized. It exhibits high thermal and chemical stability. TbL₂ is a visual multiresponsive luminescent probe that can selectively detect F^– among the same main-group anions as well as various pollutant phosphorus anions.
