Beverina, and co-workers with 3T3 cells under a standard aerated environment on page 8447, sensitized triplettriplet annihilation based photon up-conversion greatly improves the scope and applicability of fluorescence bioimaging. Anti-Stokes detection at low powers eliminates background autofluorescence and limits the potential damage of for living tissues.
