[PipH₂] [Mg₂Al₆(PO₄)₈ (H₂O)₄] (PipH₂: diprotonated piperazine) is prepared by hydrothermal reaction of a gel formed by Mg(O-Ac)₂ and Al₂O₃ in H₃PO₄ and in the presence of piperazine as a structure-directing agent (autoclave, 180 °C, 3 d).
