A flexible carbon membrane composed of ultrasmall transition metal oxides is fabricated by L. Jiao and co-workers on page 4865. In the cover image, the fishing net represents a carbon matrix, which effectively facilitates ionic/electron diffusion kinetics. CuO quantum dots in the carbon frame could tolerate the absolute strain during Na+ insertion and extraction process. Particle size, carbon content and structural morphology are also controlled by altering the synthetic conditions through the inexpensive and large-scale electrospinning method.
